IStacy’s Garden Log

Hi! I’m Stacy, owner of High Peak Studio. Welcome to my blog, where we can learn, do, think, grow and feel” together.

The new year is the perfect time to
Introduce Stacy’s Garden Through Stacy’s Garden Log I will share my “grow-related” activities, particularly the care of the different types of plants found in mixed borders and kitchen gardens. The info I provide is based on my general knowledge of plants developed from decades of gardening.
Stacy’s Garden Log incorporates the use of entries from my own garden logs. I keep tract of details such as, “What bloomed and when; what grew nicely; what didn’t survive winter? Are there are sufficient blooms or was there mostly foliage?”; which help me decide what to do in the garden and when. I also write down the hours of sunlight my different beds get throughout the growing season, as well as track weather and temperature readings. All this data helps inform my gardening decisions for next season and gives me something to focus on while devouring seed catalogs in January and February. (The pile is next to me now and REALLY trying hard to get my attention.) After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, January is for garden daydreams and planning.
I tend to view gardening as a year round activity and feel there is always something to do for the garden, even in the winter, (even if it’s indoors.) Next: Stacy’s
